COMPASS

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 24, 2026 · Applies to Compass

The short version: Compass never sends your money data anywhere. Your transactions, budgets, and categories live on your iPhone. There are no accounts, no ads, no data sales, and no third-party tracking.

What Compass stores

Compass stores the transactions you import, plus the accounts, categories, budgets, rules, recurring items, and settings you create, locally on your iPhone. An export from Settings is a file under your control; you decide where it goes. If you enable your operating system's device backup, your Compass data is included in it under your OS provider's terms.

What we collect

Nothing. Compass has no accounts, no analytics, and no crash reporting, and it does not send your personal data anywhere. It contains no networking code at all; there is no server to send it to. If you email us for support, we receive what you send and use it only to reply.

Bank data and CSVs

Compass never connects to your bank and never asks for your bank credentials. Your data arrives as a CSV file you export from your bank and import yourself; it is parsed on your iPhone and never uploaded.

On-device intelligence

Compass sorts transactions using rules you set, the categories you have chosen before, and, on iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device model. Recurring charges are found in your own imports. All of it runs on your iPhone; nothing is sent to a cloud service, ours or anyone else's.

App lock

The optional app lock uses Face ID or your passcode through iOS. Compass only learns whether you unlocked; it never sees or stores your biometric data.

Children

Compass is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
